We will assess the effects of potential endocrine disrupting CMP3 priority substances, where tadpoles are exposed to environmentally relevant concentrations in water or sediment and assessed for effects on time to metamorphosis, growth, gender, expression of genes involved in development and sexual differentiation and histology of thyroid and gonadal tissue. La transition du têtard à la grenouille (métamorphose) et la différenciation du sexe sont étroitement contrôlés par les systèmes endocriniens et les hormones, et l’exposition à des concentrations, même faibles, de certains contaminants environnementaux peut perturber les processus hormonaux normaux et engendrer de graves effets sur le développement biologique et, ainsi, sur la production d’individus sains capables de se reproduire.
